January is the month of fresh beginnings. Many people resolve to open the new year with a positive step: giving up bad or expensive habits, taking better care of themselves, spending more time with family and friends, or getting out of debt (or at least creating less debt!). We honor this tradition with a January theme of Resolutions.
Our heroes have faced many new beginnings. What promises did they make to themselves, or to friends and family? What did Aragorn vow to himself and his people upon taking the crown of Gondor? Did he manage to keep to his chosen path? What was Legolas thinking as he pledged himself to the Fellowship? And long before that, had Aragorn resolved to become as good as his brothers at tracking? Had Legolas determined to become Mirkwood's best archer? What motivated those decisions? What followed them? How did they enrich or complicate our heroes' lives?
From small to colossal, every resolution has an impact on a person's character. What resolutions have helped forge Aragorn and Legolas as we know them, or as we never knew them before?
