Summary: One man offers a tribute to his brother, and asks help for one more time
Rating: K
A hooded man walked through the woods, subtly counting the trees. Finally he stopped, gazing first at the tree then at the ground. Slowly the words started to come:
The man drew a breath, sweeping his hood back to reveal auburn hair that tumbled down past his shoulders.
Faramir dropped to his knees on the ground, pressing his fist to his forehead, he bowed and touching the back of his fisted hand to the ground at the same time.
He rose again and faced west with a bow, his heart lighter as he smiled. Even though Boromir was no longer physically here with him to listen, it was good to simply being allowed to ramble out his ideas and problems until things made sense by themselves. Until he knew what to do.

As a mother
You dried my tears
Kept away nightmares
And sang me to sleep
As a father
You raised me to know right from wrong
Taught me the laws on which our country stands
As a friend
You played with me
Bought me gifts
Lied to keep me safe
As a solider
You defended me
Gave a safe place to shelter
Taught me the code of honour
Ah kinsman
You were all this
My teacher, My world, my safety
And now I stand here Brother
The place where you, first of all in Gondor,
Honoured our king…
Your words always meant much
Mine never enough
Aie brother, why did it have to be you?
I need you now, and you’re not there
Help me brother
The scary night is over
But a new time has dawned
You dried my tears
Kept away nightmares
And sang me to sleep
As a father
You raised me to know right from wrong
Taught me the laws on which our country stands
As a friend
You played with me
Bought me gifts
Lied to keep me safe
As a solider

I do not know
Who a Steward should be
Where my loyalties should lie
Boromir, I have a son
Elboron, young Prince of Ithilien
I am frightened
I do not want to be to him
As our father was to me
Who a Steward should be
Where my loyalties should lie
Boromir, I have a son
Elboron, young Prince of Ithilien
I am frightened
I do not want to be to him
As our father was to me

“Be at peace brother… you did well
And through your mistakes
Taught me the right”
And through your mistakes
Taught me the right”
