Betrayal and Forgiveness. Some big and serious topics for July... Thanks to victoria for the suggestion!
Loyalty and honor maybe already lost their priority in our world - which is a pity - but in the tales from Middle-earth they play a very important role. Without loyalty, the tales would have an entirely different ending, in which the evil would triumph. When the loyalty of comrades can make a difference between life and death, between victory and defeat, betrayal is something very grave and serious, and the mark of a traitor is one that can last for the whole life. Being betrayed by someone they trusted can lead to a very dangerous situation also for Aragorn or Legolas. Your picture or story can depict such a situation. But in a war, there are always two sides. A good deed can be also seen as a betrayal of evil, and so our heroes can have the role of the traitors, as well, especially when in disguise.
Forgiveness is the other side of the coin. With betrayal being such a serious matter, it is not easy to forgive it. But it is not easy to admit a mistake and ask for it, either. You can put Aragorn or Legolas into any of these positions. You can also write about both - betrayal and forgiveness, or choose to depict only one of them in your story or picture.
