This is our November topic, but you still have a few days of October left, including Halloween, which you can use to write about different Creatures.
Trolls, stone giants, orcs, goblins, ghosts, wargs, giant spiders, werewolves and vampires, dragons and balrogs... but also Ents and great eagles: there are many creatures in Middle-earth who are not the Children of Ilúvatar (or adopted children, like Dwarves), but aren't animals or ordinary animals either. Many of them are scary (hence the mention of Halloween), but some can be helpful. Some have been created by the Valar, some used to be Maiar themselves, but the origin of others we can only guess, and your guesses and theories are welcome here.
Then there are beings who technically belong to the race of Men, but differ from usual Men: the skinchangers like Beorn, or the Drúedain (Púkel-men, Woses, Wild Men of the Woods). We do not know much about their origin either, and we can also count them among the creatures for the sake of this topic.
For a story, you can write about the meeting of Aragorn or Legolas with an of these races or species, revealing a bit more about them, their culture, language, customs and beliefs. A picture can depict any of these creatures on their own, or in a scene.
And by the way, did you know that the Were-worms of the Last Desert are not an invention of P. Jackson, but are really mentioned in the Hobbit?
