The theme for June is Pain. Not a pain to write, though, I hope...
One of the most primeval sensations, pain evolved to signalize that something is wrong with our bodies, and we should seek a way to amend it - which is not always possible. And so, while it's useful for the survival of mankind, dealing with it can be hard and unpleasant.
Whether the pain is physical or emotional, people differ by their tolerance of it, and the ways they deal with it. The differences are also between the races of Middle-earth: Elves, Men, Dwarves, Hobbits, Orcs, Ents...
This month, we are looking for the classical hurt-comfort stories, but not only that. It can deal with many different aspects of pain: overcoming it or submitting to it, avoiding, witnessing, causing or enduring it, being able to soothe it or not, pain with or without meaning...
