For the months of July and August, our theme will be I'm Still Here.
We can think of many ways in which this sentiment can be found in Middle Earth:
Sam Gamgee is likely the best-known example, as he wakes in Ithilien after the ring was destroyed and comes to realize that he and Frodo had been saved beyond all hope.
But it also could be a soldier of Gondor who survived the battle at the Black Gate, but now must work through his grief and guilt that he had not been able to reach their friend in time to save them.
Could it be the thought of a young man of Rohan as he realizes that he has not yet been eliminated from a contest of horsemanship?
Perhaps it was what Beregond thought when he hugged Bergil for the first time after his sentence of death had been lifted by Aragorn's mercy.
Is one of the Avari contemplating their decision to stay in Middle Earth rather than journey to Valinor?
Maybe a worried mother whispers these words in the middle of the night, to soothe their sick child back into a healing sleep.
However you choose to interpret the phrase, we hope that you will show us that you're still here by submitting your story! The deadline for this theme will be August 31.
