Taste, sight, touch, smell and hearing are the five traditionally recognized senses and our theme for September.
These senses are our main means of perceiving the world - or Middle-earth. Everything you experience, you experience through your senses, and so they deserve their own story. You can write about all five or pick just one for it. You can focus on the loss (temporal or permanent) or one of the senses, and ways of dealing with it, on the differences between the sharpness of senses of different races or on pleasant and unpleasant perceptions perceived through them.
Five senses are the title of the challenge, but you don't have to limjt yourself to just five. There are many more senses, both confirmed and hypothetic. Human senses also include the perception of pressure, temperature, motion, pain and balance, but maybe there is also something like the "sixth sense" - intuition? Elves could even have some more, and I'm not even talking about the Valar.
You only need one sense to read a story - sight, but while reading, you imagine what the characters perceive with all their senses. This month, let us give the readers this wonderful illusion again!
