We always love to use prompt ideas that have come from our participants! If you have a suggestion for the future challenge, please leave it in a comment below, and we'll be sure to consider it.
It helps to keep a prompt as general as possible, so that it can be used in any culture. For example "A picnic in a forest" would leave out any cultures in Middle Earth that doesn't have forests; Harad, for example, or Erebor. But "A picnic" can be used in any culture, and in any age!
We ask that prompts themselves be rated K, even if the stories they inspire may be rated up to M.

Challenge: Change
For change is everywhere. It changes Frodo´s life forever, when he receives the ring from Bilbo. Gandalf fell in Moria but returned as Gandalf the White.
The ring and the arkenstone change the heart of even the strongest warrior.
Love brings changes e.g. when Faramir mets Eowyn, both see the light again.
Instead of his brother going to Rivendell, Boromir goes in his stead.
Write, what change inspires you.

I would like to suggest Speed as a prompt. Speed can be needed in various ways for example when trying to get an injured warrior back to the healers or to escape danger as in the flight to the ford when Glorfindel takes Frodo to Imladris and the black riders are washed away. The speed of communications, or lack of it can lead to peace of mind and the ability to make useful plans or misunderstandings and perceived wrongs or someone being unaware of danger ahead. Speed and accuracy also need to be used in warrior training or competitions and in the repair of buildings or equipment damaged by war but may also be used as a negative when these need to be long lasting rather than 'a quick fix'. Just a thought.

"Dessert" or "Fruit" would be a fun prompt! Something really specific.

"Birth"
Be it people giving birth or animals giving birth... something birthed... could be an idea or a feeling too.

"Then and Now"
Since Middle-Earth is such a rich world with such a grand history, "Then and Now" could mean a lot of things. It might be Aragorn as king looking back at a time when he was still a ranger, or it might be warriors like Faramir looking back at a time when they had no wife and no children. Of course it might also concern the elves, who have seen so many kingdoms and lives come and go, so many things begin and end.

LegolasLover, we see your suggestion for COLD as a theme, and love it! We already had a challenge for January and February but have plans for using your suggestion in the future, that we hope will fit the tone of your request, too.

Figured I'd throw another suggestion out there... Space. Meteors or stars or heavenly bodies.
