Our prompt for September/ October is Space and it comes to us as a suggestion from a reader!
Space can mean many things: planets, stars, meteors, the sun, the moon—the heavens above. Tolkien gave us mythology explaining the origins of many of these entities and the resonance they had among the peoples of Middle Earth—from Varda, to Tilion, to Eärendil.
But space can also reflect distance. The spaces between us, both metaphorically and physically. Or the spaces between the text, the gaps that we are left to fill.
How you interpret this prompt is up to you, but we have saved space for your stories and cannot wait to see how you interpret this prompt!
